World famous professor in system dynamics David Wheat started his lectures in Riga Technical University

On the 3rd of September guest lectures led by world famous professor David Wheat on system dynamics started for students of “Environmental Science” programme in the Institute of Energy Systems and Environment of the Riga Technical University. David Wheat received his master’s degree at Harvard University and his PhD in System Dynamics at the University of Bergen in 2007. David Wheat is past-president of the economics chapter of the International System Dynamics Society, is a member of the Scientific Committees of the international journals (“System Dynamics Review”, “International Journal of Pluralism and Economics Education”), and is a co-author of several.

Online survey for SMEs

Within the project Test-4-SME an online survey for SMEs has been developed and launched to analyse the quality and capability of testing services and identify the gaps. The survey is conducted in all countries of the Baltic Sea region and its results will be used to improve the availability of laboratory collaborations and testing services. The contributions of expertise from academy and energy planners from Sweden (i.e. Linnæus University and Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden) and Germany (i.e. Bavarian State Forest Institute) will be the key to initiate a new discussion toward concrete opportunities in Latvia for higher fuelwood.

Project „Elaboration of innovative biomass gasification technology to obtain syngas”

On March 4, 2015 in cooperation with a partner – Institute of Energy Systems and Environment of Riga Technical University, company SIA “Balteneko” entered into agreement No 2/EEZLV02/14/AK/015/002 with the State Regional Development Agency on performance of the project „Elaboration of innovative biomass gasification technology to obtain syngas”. The aim of the project is to reduce impact on climate changes by constructing and demonstrating an innovative and effective low carbon dioxide technological solution (system) for biomass gasification, which includes the main equipment (gas generator) and ancillary equipment.
