Bioresources value model
For the development of Latvia and the promotion of our national economy, the effective and full use of local bioresources and applying innovative biotechnologies to obtain valuable bioproducts is very important. These and other principles of the use of bioresources are combined in the Bioeconomy concept.
The goal of the Bioresources Value Model project is to develop a methodology with a transdisciplinary approach to the evaluation of the bioeconomy and the development of a bioresources value model in order to find opportunities to increase the value of the use of bioresources in agriculture, forestry and fisheries and to promote the development of these economic and scientific sectors.
In the framework of the project, an in-depth analysis of the factors characterizing the bioeconomy will be carried out, as well as the study of the mutual interaction of these factors and the creation and validation of the methodology for determining the value index of bioresources. As a result of the project, recommendations will be created for policymakers (in the agricultural and forestry sectors) to develop and improve the relevant regulatory acts for the development of the bioeconomy.
