Improvement of building energy efficiency technologies
The project will (1) develop new technological solutions for improving energy efficiency of existing buildings engineering systems (heating, hot water, ventilation and air conditioning), (2) identify the potential of renewable energy use in buildings, (3) improve building envelope, (4) develop policy recommendations for nearly zero energy buildings. This will be carried out by applying combination of different research methods: experimental studies, in-situ measurements, data collection and analysis and simulations. The project team has an extensive experience in building energy efficiency sector such as development of new technologies assessment of energy consumption, energy savings, implementation of energy efficiency measures, energy management, energy efficiency policies, by applying different scientific methods. The team comprises certified energy auditors, architects, thermal engineers, building physicist, chemists and modellers.
